Lewis Hobson is an artist from Durham in the North East of England with a background in graffiti who now specialises in community mural art. This book is dedicated to his journey, alongside that of the art form itself: from underground sub-culture born onto the subway of New York in 1960/70s to what is now a globally popular culture, with large scale mural art being an important way for communities to express their identity. Graffiti will always be part of our cities, even if all you ever do is walk by with a glance, the provocation to interpret it and participate is always there.
